Hello! I'm Zack Vann and yes, that's why Money-Vann is spelled with two "n's."
I'm a personal finance enthusiast who has spent years learning through books, podcasts, online courses, and real world experience. I've read more than 30 personal finance books and spent countless hours studying topics like budgeting, investing, debt payoff, and money psychology. I earned my bachelor's degree from California State University, Long Beach, with concentrations in Business Management and Operations & Supply Chain Management. I've informally coached friends and family members for years, helping them create plans and pay off more than $100,000 in debt.
My passion for personal finance started early. After getting my first job at 17, I saved enough to graduate from college debt free. Today, I work in the corporate world, where I've gained firsthand experience with 401(k)s, RSUs, HSAs, and other workplace benefits that play an important role in long term financial planning.
Like many people, I didn't learn about investing until I started my first salaried job. Since then, my mindset has shifted from simply saving money to intentionally growing wealth. I believe personal finance isn't about restricting yourself. It's about making informed decisions, spending intentionally, and building a financial system that supports the life you want.
My goal isn't to tell you exactly what to do with your money. It's to help you understand your options, think critically about financial decisions, and build a system that works for your life.
In 2021, I married my beautiful wife, Hannah. Like many couples, we came into marriage with different money habits, separate bank accounts, credit cards, and financial perspectives. Together, we built a financial system that works for us. One that simplifies our finances, reduces stress, and allows us to focus on what matters most.
Getting married reinforced my belief that personal finance is a team effort. I'm passionate about helping couples improve communication, align their financial goals, and create a system that works for their unique relationship.
