Hello!

My name is Zack Vann, hence why Money-Vann is spelt with two n’s. I am a personal finance nerd who has self taught myself through books, podcasts, courses, and life experience. I have read 30+ books and consumed hundreds if not thousands of hours of podcasts and video content related to personal finances. I have informally coached many friends and family members over the years, notably helping reduce debts totaling over $100k. I obtained my bachelors degree from California State University Long Beach with double options in Business Management and Operations & Supply Chain Management.

Money has fascinated me since a young age. Being the youngest of three siblings, I always found creative ways to save my allowance and spend as little as possible with my friends so I could buy more videos games and CDs. When I got my first job at age 17, I continued my aggressive savings and was able to pay for my own college education completely debt free. I worked hard to land a job 9 months before graduating with a fortune 5 company. I continue to work in the “corporate world” which funds my investment strategy and is also where I have experienced 401k planning, restricted stock options (RSU’s), Health Saving Accounts (HSA), and more.

It wasn’t until after I graduated from college when I learned about investing and how to set up a portfolio that worked for me. I have since shifted my mindset from a savings mentality to a growth mentality. I am not shy to spend on the things that bring me the most joy, while mindfully cutting back on the things that don’t.

In 2021, I married my beautiful wife Hannah. We had a handful of money mindset differences as well as different checking accounts, savings accounts, credit cards, ect. Together, we created a financial system that works for us and allows us to focus on what really matters in life. Simplifying your household finances and creating an automated system is critical for reducing stress and having a more fulfilling life. I am passionate about couples learning together and getting on the same page about finances.
